WHY A SHANNON? Find out why Shannon boats have earned an international reputation for the highest quality construction and offshore integrity.  Shannon has the most documented ocean miles by average husband and wife sailing teams than any other boat building company in the industry and has logged over one million ocean miles, including an impressive list of circumnavigations and transoceanic passages.  Every major harbor in the world has been visited by a Shannon. Read the original Shannon Study Manual (c.1975-1985) to learn more about Shannon yachts.

Ruby Kiss was commissioned by a cruising couple that have circumnavigated and each has over 100,000 blue water miles. Ruby Kiss has combined all the best attributes of their prior boats and can comfortably be operated by a couple anywhere and at any latitude. She is equally at home at anchor in the lagoon of a remote atoll as she is cruising the Inside Passage or on an expedition through the infamous Northwest Passage.

Ruby Kiss has many attributes that make her special. There is 270 degree viewing from the salon.  She is a twin screw vessel for added maneuverability and power underway, and for economy, can be run on one engine — giving her a 3,000-mile range. She has large fuel and water tankage (640 gal diesel capacity in 5 separate fuel tanks with fuel scrubber transfer pump. 240 gal freshwater capacity). The sail plan is an all roller furling ketch rig. The aft section is a power boat stern for easy access in any conditions, for boarding, loading supplies and fishing. As cruisers know 85% of cruising is at anchor or a marina, of the balance of 15% 1/2 is spent motoring and the other sailing. This boat is set up for both. Ruby has a fully enclosed upper cockpit for all weather conditions.  The other cruiser mantra is to have the biggest anchor and ground tackle for safety and the largest tender the boat can carry. Ruby Kiss has a 15.5' AB aluminum hull RIB with a 40 HP Yamaha and 2- 8 gal tanks and another 10 gal in 2 Jerry cans for maximum exploring range. Her primary anchor is a 100 # Manson with 400' of 3/8 hi test chain and 150' of nylon rode for maximum hold in any conditions.

Ruby Kiss is the most recent of the Shannon HPS pilothouse motorsailers. Though the hull and deck were laid up at the Shannon yard, she was finished and customized by a group of professional contractors.  The end result is stunning. She has many qualities that set her apart from other vessels.

Her highly experienced owners, having formerly owned a Nordhavn 72 and three different Gunboat catamarans, have changed plans from doing the Northwest Passage aboard Ruby Kiss and have decided to go back to a cruising catamaran. This is an excellent opportunity to own a nearly new, true expedition style motorsailer, a perfect vessel for the Pacific NW; with all the necessary equipment and all the comfort of a similar sized powerboat at the fraction of the cost.

She differs from the 43’s with the addition of a stern lazarette and a convenient boarding platform, which extends her LOD to 46’. Interior fit and finish includes varnished mahogany bulkheads and cabinetry, teak and holly soles, white staving headliners and custom composite countertops.

Gear and equipment is carefully chosen for reliability offshore. Cockpit layout is carefully considered to allow short-handed sailing. Basic structure of hull, deck and rig is built to Shannon’s legendary standards without excess weight.   The keel/centerboard design allows both upwind performance and shoal-draft capability. In short, this is a robust, offshore-capable boat that does all things well.

"Blue Magic" is one of the best equipped and best maintained boats of her size and type we have ever seen. The current owner is the original purchaser, who had the boat built to his custom specifications, and has sailed her every year since her launch in 1992, including :-  Atlantic Circle - 1993 - 1995, Baltic Sea, Scandinavia & British Isles - 2008 - 2011, and Cruising from Newfoundland to Bahamas. The boat has been winter stored inside, both in Europe and the U.S.A. where she has been serviced By Concordia Company, Dartmouth, MA.

The Shannon 43 is one of the most popular bluewater cruising boats in the Shannon fleet.  Designed by Walt Schulz and built to be the ultimate short-handed long distance ocean cruiser, the Shannon 43 offers excellent ocean sailing capability, good speed in light air and exceptional seaworthiness.

One celebrity owner is quoted as saying:

"(My) boat is a Shannon 43. It's one of the 12 best-built boats in the entire world….If you live a life of make-believe, your life isn't worth anything until you do something that does challenge your reality. And to me, sailing the open ocean is a real challenge, because it's life or death. There's no quarter." _Morgan Freeman, actor

MOTIVATED SELLER. With a just completed total refit by Shannon Boat Company, "Puffin" is in excellent condition and is ready to sail. The Shoalsailer 32 has a highly acclaimed patented 2' 6" draft hull design that has the ability to sail in less than 3 feet of water with the rudders and dagger boards DOWN. The Shoalsailer 32 also provides excellent all-around sailing, including great windward performance, has a stability curve similar to other monohulls, at all times going to weather with just the slight angle of heel,  similar to a multi-hull. Amazingly, the boat can be beached with its Kevlar reinforced hull. The 12'9" beam allows the Shoalsailer 32 to be berthed in conventional marina slips unlike catamarans. And, with the Yanmar 40hp diesel engine, the Shoalsailer has a CRUISING SPEED OF 7 KNOTS under power.
